What are the commonalities between Marshall D. Teach and Edward Teach? Come and find out here on my blog!

Marshall D. Teach also called: “Blackbeard” is a character present in the work called: “One Piece“. Edward Teach also called him by the name of: “Blackbeard” was the English pirate famous for his raids. What do have in common the two characters?

Marshall D. Teach also called Blackbeard, is the captain of the Blackbeard Pirates and currently one of the Four Emperors in the world of One Piece.

Under Oden’s memories lies Marshall D. Teach for the first time when he was still a child boarding Whitebeard’s ship,

thus starting his career as a pirate, later becoming a member of the 2nd Division of Whitebeard’s Pirates.

One day when Teach saw his crew mate find his Devil Fruit he wanted for himself,

he decided to kill Thatch, the commander of the 4th division, to take the devil fruit with him: “Yami Yami no Mi” later deserting and fleeing Whitebeard’s ship,

thus becoming the quintessential enemy of his former captain. After him he manages to create a crew for himself,

by implementing his plan by joining in the Seven Warlords of the Sea, giving Portgas D. Ace as a reward to the government.

Through this action he manages to enter Impel Down, only to free and take within his crew the strongest and most dangerous people in the prison.

Later he appears during the battle of Marineford to attack and kill Whitebeard with his crew, also taking with him the fruit of the devil: “Gura Gura no Mi“.

After two years he manages to become one of the most feared pirates of all the seas, becoming one of the Four Emperors who rule the New World.

On the other hand there is Edward Teach better known as Blackbeard.

He was an English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the east coast of the North American colonies of Great Britain.

He was probably born in Bristol, England, between 1680 and 1690.

Edward Teach left England in his teens to travel to the Caribbean.

In fact, in Jamaica he served on a pirate ship in the pay of Queen Anne of England during the War of the Spanish Succession.

At the end of the war, Blackbeard moved to New Providence, Bahamas, and joined the crew of another famous pirate and former privateer: Captain Benjamin Hornigold.

Highly intelligent and cunning, Blackbeard had been well educated in his youth and could read and write.

Thanks to his skills, Blackbeard soon climbed the command hierarchy in Hornigold’s service,

becoming his right hand and, along with him, the terror of the Caribbean.

It was then that he gained a reputation as a bloodthirsty killer.

The last ship captured by this duo was the Concorde, a three-hundred-ton, twenty-six-gun frigate that was supposed to be commanded by Hornigold.

However, the old captain decided to accept the proposal for a general amnesty intended for the pirates and offered by Woodes Rogers,

the new British governor of the Bahamas. Rejecting it, Teach became the commander of the Concorde which he improved with forty guns and reinforcing the flanks.

He renamed her “Queen Anne’s Revenge“. The shrewd and fearless Teach soon became well-known enough to attract a crew of 250 pirates to his ship.
